What’s been happening in the Studio?
Even though the calendar insists that winter doesn’t officially begin until Dec 21st, it nonetheless already feels pretty wintry around here. A LOT of snow, some honest to goodness cold weather, the wood stove in regular use and snow tires on the car all point to another winter officially underway. There’s no complaining there. I honestly appreciate the snowy stillness. It’s a sense of calm that calls for comfort food and mulled cider.
At the moment I have a number of artistic irons in the fire. Paintings are out on loan at library and hospital exhibits. From now until mid-January I have paintings in a 12x12 group show at a small but completely loveable gallery/shop in a neighbouring town. In early spring next year I will have my first ever solo show (at the same aforementioned gallery/shop). And then, before I know it, it’ll be time to get organized for a June studio tour.
A had a painting that was similar to this one in a show recently. It sold rather quickly so I thought I’d dig into the theme of big sky once again, with the fields and that homestead below.
Thanks for stopping by!
